Uplift Welcomes Alissa Matthies Tamasi, Senior Director of ESG Strategy & Reporting

Uplift is excited to welcome Alissa Matthies Tamasi, our new Senior Director of ESG Strategy & Reporting.

Prior to joining Uplift, Alissa spent more than 15 years managing sustainability and corporate responsibility at Target, a Fortune 50 brand and one of the largest retailers in the United States. In this role, she led strategic and innovative ESG initiatives from waste reduction to water stewardship and climate programs.

Highlights include developing the strategy and framework to prioritize quantifying Target’s carbon emissions footprint and gaining approval from the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) for Target’s climate goals, development of the first net-zero store in California, creating and leading the company’s first comprehensive sustainability strategy, Target Forward–including securing leadership commitment to become a net-zero enterprise by 2040.

At Target, Alissa served as a valuable thought leader, representing the Minneapolis business community as a delegate at COP24 in Poland and hosting panels with NGO partners such as the World Wildlife Fund, Ceres, and Carbon Disclosure Project. She also secured corporate support for climate initiatives including the Paris Agreement, Business Ambition for 1.5°C, and a National Contribution Determination letter to President Biden for “We Are Still In.”

With an emphasis on standout communication, Alissa elevates sustainability and corporate responsibility to benefit people and the planet, while serving as an essential business partner. She excels at using facts, data, and transparent metrics to drive progress on sustainability metrics and KPIs.
