Sustainable Transformation: Becoming an Industry Leader in Sustainability

Client:

Large, privately-owned logistics company

Opportunity:

A leading transportation and logistics company wanted to realize its vision to be the industry leader in sustainability. To accomplish this goal, they knew they needed to fully integrate ESG into their business and the services they provide their customers, but they recognized they didn’t have the technical expertise in-house to be successful.

Solution:

Uplift developed a comprehensive ESG strategy and go-to-market strategy for sustainable service offerings. The process included an assessment of current ESG strategy and programming, a double materiality assessment to understand stakeholder priorities, GHG emissions inventory, governance structure and policy review, competitor analysis and peer benchmarking, and human rights due diligence. This data was used to build a three-tiered ESG strategy and prioritized market opportunities for sustainability T&L services.

Outcomes:

  • Creation of a fully integrated ESG strategy and action plan to strengthen internal operations, inform future service offerings, and shape the client’s marketing and communications strategy.

  • Development of a human rights due diligence process across the company’s supply chain, credible carbon-credit offsetting plan, and hiring of the client’s first Director of Sustainability.

  • Continued support of Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions data collection and tracking, incorporation of biofuels and more sustainable materials, development of supplier and employee codes of conduct and risk management programs, supply chain mapping and due diligence, and ESG reporting.

Impact: Positioning as Sustainability Leader within Competitive Industry
